Background

For over ten years, I have coordinated and co-facilitated courses, camps and programmes which explore our ecological, creative and spiritual relationship with wildness. I co-facilitate regular events and programmes at Anam Cara, Scotland where I lived as a community member for eight years, and at the Ecodharma centre, Spain.

My facilitation work is informed and inspired by the social ecology practices of Joanna Macy’s, ‘The Work that Reconnects’, Ecodharma, the School of Lost Borders, Art of Mentoring and Forest School approaches. My teachers include Alan Watson Featherstone (founder of Trees for Life), wilderness skills and bushcraft expert Willow Lohr and a one-year training of earth-based practices and ceremonial approaches with Twobirds, Embracing Shamanism.

In 2017, I began a collaborative apprenticeship with wilderness guide Rupert Marques to hold Earth Initiation, a contemporary wilderness rite-of-passage through the lineage of the School of Lost Borders.

Academic training (MLitt and ongoing doctoral) in environmental literature and humanities, and creative writing at University of Glasgow. Current supervisory team: Elizabeth Reeder, David Borthwick & Emma Cardwell.
